expert-guided seabird, sailing & snorkeling Expeditions in the Grenadines
Did you know that the Grenadines are globally significant for seabirds? Because seabirds prefer to offshore islands, their presence in the Grenadines has gone largely unnoticed in the region until recently. Join us on an outing with Captain Vaughn Thomas, a seasoned sailing captain, fisherman and naturalist from Carriacou.
Research has shown that coral reefs immediately surrounding a seabird colony are much healthier than areas without seabirds, so we encourage you to come for a snorkel to see it for yourself! On your outing, you will not just have the chance to visit these remote colonies and witness thousands of seabirds, but you will also have the option to acquire a local field guide "Birds of the Transboundary Grenadines" and contribute to environmental data collection. |
Naturalist discovery expeditions
Follow in the footsteps of early explorers and naturalists visiting the Grenadines! Offshore islands in the Grenadines serve as biodiversity hotspots, yet have been understudied due to their remoteness and inaccessibility. At certain times of the year, shorebirds migrate through the archipelago in large numbers. Several endemic animals occur in the region. Little is known about the vegetation, reptile and insect presence on these islands. Your sightings and photographs will help us document biodiversity in these fragile ecosystems.
Sand, sun and sea - Customized charters and events
Customized half/full day, overnights and multi-day tours can be created to make sure you experience the Grenadines as you wish! We can accommodate for special events in the Grenadines of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and of Grenada, with offshore island and coastal options available. Let us know where you want to go and what you want to see - why visit just one island when you can see many!
collaboration, research, and education
Are you interested or involved in research in the Grenadines? We can assist with local collaborations, data collection, grant writing and outreach. If your research involves at-sea or offshore island investigations, we can help provide your transportation, accommodations, sample and equipment storage.

"Birds of the Transboundary Grenadines" is an innovative new avian field guide by co-authors Juliana Coffey and Alison (Aly) Ollivierre. This is the first guide to specifically cover these islands, which are geologically, ecologically, historically, and culturally more similar to one another than to their respective mainland islands (Saint Vincent and Grenada). The book contains:
